Patent US #5,761,071:
Browser Kiosk System
A self-service kiosk system consists of:
- a monitor having a display screen;
- a microprocessor electrically coupled to the monitor;
- browser software executable on the microprocessor to respond to user
input;
- the graphical user interface (GUI) of the browser software;
- a document
viewing area; and
- at least one image on the screen to mask the controls
of the browser software.
This system prevents a kiosk system user
from tampering with the browser software. The self-service kiosk system
includes security
control
software to prohibit access to the kiosk operating
system.

Web Information Kiosk
Relates generally to a method for focusing the content
viewed on web-enabled kiosks by prohibiting access
to unauthorized URLs and
selectively filtering,
displaying, and modifying accessible hypertext
documents.
Patent US #6,078,848:
Peripheral integration software for browser kiosk
system
Building on the patent of browser kiosk system,
this software provides functionality to integrate:
- microphones
- speakers
- cameras
- and serial input devices on web-enabled
kiosks.
Serial input devices include magnetic
stripe card-swipe readers, barcode
readers, smart
card readers, personal
identification verifiers (palm
print readers, retina scanners,
voice analyzers, fingerprint scanners,
DNA testers, etc.) or any combination
of the
